Biography

Barbara Mair was born in May 1863 in Tirol, Austria; the daughter of Anton Mair and Magdalena Berger.

Barbara immigrated to Canton, Stark Co., Ohio in 1888.

Barbara married Louis Reich on September 15, 1889 in Stark Co., Ohio. As Louis was also an immigrant from Tirol, it is likely that they knew each other before immigating to the United States.

Barbara and Louis had at least four children; we have references to three of them - only Nicholas survived to adulthood:

  1. Nicholas Reich - Born August 30, 1896
  2. Unnamed Infant Son - Born February 2, 1900; Died February 5, 1900
  3. Mary Amelia Reich - Born February 2, 1900; Died February 23, 1900

Barbara Mair Reich died on August 3, 1907 in Canton, Stack Co., Ohio and is buried in the Saint Peters Cemetery there.
